Series accidents in Bhubaneswar
A pickup van driver was killed in an accident as a truck hit the vehicle at Baramunda overbridge in Bhubaneswar late Wednesday night.
The driver of the van reportedly succumbed to his injuries at the spot. The vehicle was severely damaged in the process.
As per reports, upon being informed, local police reached the site to manage the aftermath of the accident. However, as the police vehicle was positioned at the mishap spot, it was hit by a trailer from behind, resulting in severe damage to the police van.
Fortunately, none of the police personnel sustained any injuries in this subsequent mishap.
The occurrence of these accidents intensifies the pressing dialogue on the state's traffic regulations and the urgent need for improved infrastructure to uphold safer travel routes in the capital.
Earlier a day before, a person was critically injured in an accident involving three trucks near Palasuni Square in Bhubaneswar.

Traffic was disrupted for some time on the route before police cleared the vehicles and began an investigation into the incident.
Earlier in December last year, tension erupted at Xavier Square in Bhubaneswar after hundreds of local residents staged a roadblock demanding compensation for the persons injured in a series of accidents involving three vehicles. More than seven persons were injured in the accident.
