Security guard in Bhubaneswar stabs woman receptionist to death

In a shocking incident, a security guard stabbed a girl to death at GGP colony in Bhubaneswar.

The deceased has been identified as Bijayeeni Sahoo, a resident of Jagantsinghpur, who was working as a receptionist at a private organization in Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, the accused security guard was agitated with the company authorities over salary issues. On June 20, he tried to barge into the office wielding a knife. However, Bijayeeni confronted him at the reception.

Enraged by her act, the security guard stabbed Bijayeeni with a knife he was holding and fled the spot.

Following the incident, the company authorities rushed the victim to SCB hospital in Cuttack where she succumbed to her injuries on Friday.

Mancheswar Police began a probe immediately after the incident and arrested the accused on Friday.

Speaking about the crime, Bhubaneswar DCP, Prateek Singh said, “We have apprehended the accused and currently questioning him about the murder. We will question everybody including the building owner and the office staff and try to ascertain the exact cause of the murder.”

Mancheswar Police is currently conducting the post-mortem of the deceased.
