Abducted teacher rescued by police
Hours after allegedly being abducted by miscreants for ransom, Police managed to rescue a school teacher in Sundargarh district. The rescued teacher from Bramhanmura high school, Sarbeswar Das on Tuesday narrated the ordeal and torture he underwent at the hands of his abductors.
According to Das, some miscreants had abducted him on Monday when he was on his way back home in Balishankara from the school.
After abducting Das in an SUV, the miscreants took him to a forest area and assaulted him. At gunpoint, the miscreants made him call his wife and demand Rs 1 lakh as ransom. The miscreants even threatened to kill Das if his family failed to pay the ransom amount.
“The miscreants made me open the password lock of my mobile phone and call my wife demanding money. I told them that we do not have money and my wife will not be able to arrange Rs 1 lakh,” said Das.
On getting the ransom call, Das’ wife arranged Rs 50,000 and paid it to the kidnappers. Prior to that Das’ wife had alerted police about the entire kidnapping matter.
Later, the Police rescued Das with the help of mobile phone tracking from Kinjirkela-Kulaba road. Four persons have been detained in connection with the case and further probe is underway.
