Embracing the Prime Minister’s vision for a healthier nation, Rourkela Police on Sunday rolled out a ‘Fit India Cycle Drive’, with senior officers and personnel actively participating in the event.

The drive, inspired by the PM’s Mann Ki Baat message — “Fitness ki dose, aadha ghanta roz” (a dose of fitness, half an hour every day) — aims to promote daily exercise and fitness awareness among the force and the community.

The cycle rally started from the SP office in Rourkela, passed through Birsa Munda Chhak, and returned to the SP office, spreading the message of fitness and healthy living.

Police officials said the event aimed at encouraging both the force and the public to adopt cycling and regular exercise as part of their daily routine.

“Our PM is concerned about obesity, which is spreading rapidly across the country. So we have launched a ‘Fitness ki dose, aadha ghanta roz’ campaign headed by the Rourkela SP. We are hopeful that this drive will help to keep everyone fit. We will try to continue in the future in Rourkela, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh to keep every police officer fit,” DIG (Western Range) Brijesh Kumar Rai said.

“Every personnel of the Rourkela Police district actively participated in the campaign and were very happy,” said a senior police officer.
