The Plant Site Police in Rourkela solved the loot incident from a jewellery shop that had rocked the steel city recently.

While two siblings were arrested, the police recovered 512 gm of gold ornaments from them.

The accused have been identified as Abhiraj Soni and Ayush Raj Prasad from Rourkela.

As per reports, Soni’s friend was working at the jewellery shop. The sibling duo targeted that shop and hatched a plan to loot it. They had looted around 856gm gold from the shop.

Gold worth Rs 52 lakh was looted from that jewellery shop by the accused.

Speaking about the arrest, Rourkela DSP, Anil Kumar Pradhan said, “The arrested brothers will be forwarded to court today. We have recovered 512 gm of gold jewellery from them. But the complainant claimed that 856 gm of gold was looted from his shop.”

“We are questioning the accused. We have found evidence against these two brothers. So we have arrested them. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the involvement of any other accused in the loot,” Pradhan added.
