Tribal leader George Tirkey
With the police still clueless even 10 days after the death of Rourkela’s assistant Collector Sushmita Minj, senior tribal leader George Tirkey and Albert Kindo have come out in support of the aggrieved family.
While addressing a press conference on Friday, Tirkey said, “We demand a CBI inquiry. Since it is a high-profile murder case, we will never accept the investigation done by the state government. We will also knock on the doors of the court seeking an order for a CBI inquiry. Demanding justice for the family, we will gherao the SP’s office on October 3.”
On the other hand, tribal leader Albert Kindo has warned that the district Collector’s office will be gheraoed on October 6.
At the same time, deceased Minj’s brother Sandeep Minj said, “The case is being probed by a DSP-rank officer whereas we are demanding a CBI inquiry. It seems to us that they (the police) are doing this to fool us.”
Meanwhile, the SP finally broke his silence after 10 days of Sushmita’s death. He said stringent action will be taken against the guilty.
Notably, the Assistant Collector’s body was found under mysterious circumstances in the pond of the Centurion Park under Plant Site Police limits in Rourkela on September 19 evening.
