Robbery bid on gold loan firm foiled by siren warning in Baripada; incident caught on CCTV camera

A robbery bid on a financial company in Baripada Town of Mayurbhanj district reportedly got foiled when the siren of the office made a noise on Thursday. The loot bid was captured in the CCTV of the Finance company office.

A complaint was later filed at the local police station in this regard.

As per reports, a gang of five robbers came in a car well before the office hours of the branch office of Mannapuram Gold Loan operating in the Station Road area of Baripada town.

They were waiting outside the office for the staff to open it. As soon as the office was opened, the dacoits brandishing pistols stormed into the office and tried to terrorize the staff.

The robbers beat three employees and snatched away their cell phones. However, in the meantime the siren of the office somehow made a noise, leaving the dacoits scared. And, the robbers ran away.

Speaking to the media, the area manager of Manipuran Gold Loan, Roni Kundu, said, "The moment our office shutters were opened, some people stormed inside brandishing pistols. All were masked. A siren was near the security staff. As the siren blew, they ran away. There is no loss of property or lives. We have filed a complaint in this regard.”

Police have started an investigation and checked the CCTV footage to nab the culprits.
