Ahead of the ‘Biswa Odia Bhasa Sammilani’, some protestors tried to barge into Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar on Friday to present the ‘Chhabila Madhu Barnabodha’ (odia alphabet book) to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
However, as per reports, they threw the books inside the Naveen Niwas when they were prevented entry into CM’s residence. Later, they were detained by the police.
As per the protestors, they wanted to present the ‘Chhabila Madhu Barnabodha’ to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as he can’t speak in Odia.
“Odisha government is organising the ‘Biswa Odia Bhasa Sammilani’ for the first time in the State. However, it’s a shame that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik can’t speak in Odia. We had come to present ‘Chhabila Madhu Barnabodha’ to the Chief Minister to help him learn the language,” said Bibhuti Bhusana Mohapatra, one of the protestors.
“First the Chief Minister should learn the Odia alphabet before organizing ‘Biswa Odia Bhasa Sammilani’. How the non-Odias will organize the Odia Bhasa Sammilani?” he asked.
Notably, the three-day-long & first-of-its-kind ‘Biswa Odia Bhasa Sammilani’ will be held in Bhubaneswar starting on February 3. During the conclave, the government has planned several programmes in rural and urban areas across the State with a budget provision of around Rs 100 crore.
