PM Modi launches Subhadra Yojana
Excitement was at its zenith in the BJP camp as Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Odisha on the occasion of his birthday to launch the mega Subhadra Yojana which was one of the major poll promises made by the saffron brigade prior to the 2024 elections.
After attending some events in Bhubaneswar, the Prime Minister launched the mega Subhadra scheme at a special function held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
A thick blanket of security cover was in place for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Odisha visit today. Around 81 platoons of police force was deployed in Bhubaneswar for management of traffic, crowd control, law and order and security for the Prime Minister’s one-day visit to the state.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Deputy CMs- Pravati Parida and KV Singh Deo, several Union Ministers, BJP Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda attended the mega launch of the Subhadra Yojana.
Under the Subhadra scheme, women beneficiaries will get a financial assistance of Rs 50,000 over a period of five years between 2024-25 and 2028-29.
Today, the first installment was credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
The Odisha government had earlier cleared that those who have not been able to complete the registration process for Subhadra Yojana, can do it anytime even after the launch of the scheme today. This has been done to ensure that the yojana's benefits reach all beneficiaries and hence no deadline has been fixed for its registration.
Odisha CM Mohan Majhi said, “On his birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Odisha. BJP had promised Subhadra Yojana before coming to power. Today, PM Modi visited the state for the launch of the mega scheme and we have fulfilled our promise. It is a mega welfare scheme and there is excitement among the beneficiaries."
Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida said, “Subhadra Yojana is PM Modi’s guarantee and BJP’s commitment. We have set a target to extend the scheme to one crore beneficiaries and 72 lakh beneficiaries have already completed the registration process."
