President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day Odisha visit from 24 March, including a darshan at Nilamadhaba Temple in Kantilo and attending the Ravenshaw University convocation in Cuttack.

President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Odisha for a two-day visit starting on 24 March, with events including a visit to the Nilamadhaba Temple in Kantilo in Nayagarh for a darshan and also attending the convocation ceremony of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack.

In preparation for her visit, security arrangements, temporary accommodations, and other logistical measures are being closely monitored. Further, in this regard, the District Collector and SP of Nayagarh have visited the Nilamadhaba Temple to oversee the arrangements.

Visit itinerary:

The current itinerary of the President states that her helicopter will land at the Paltan Padia in Kantilo on the 24th, following which she will proceed to the revered Nilamadhab temple for darshan. On the same day, she is also scheduled to visit Dhanchangada and Kaliapalli regions of the district.

On the 25th, President Murmu will attend the convocation ceremony of Ravenshaw University as its Chief Guest.

Recent visits of President Droupadi Murmu to Odisha:

Notably, the President had earlier attended the state in January this year when it hosted the high-profile Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. In her address at the conclave, she emphasised the role of the Indian diaspora in contributing to the vision of ‘Viskit Bharat’ and also conferred awards and addressed the valedictory session.

On December 3 last year, President Murmu had arrived in Odisha on a five-day visit where she also graced the Navy Day Celebrations as its chief guest at the Blue Flag Beach in Puri. Additionally, she had laid the foundation stones for several railway projects and stopped for a heartfelt interaction with locals at her native place of Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.
