Police congregation
Protesting against the action taken against the cops in the Bharatpur case, over a hundred police officers of ACP, inspector, sub-inspector ranks and constables allegedly assembled at the Reserve Ground in Bhubaneswar on September 21.
At a time when the Commissionerate Police has been drawing flak from everywhere for the Bharatpur case, such congregation has raised many questions like who permitted them to leave their respective police stations? Did the CP or the DCP give permission? Was it a conspiracy to put the 100-day-old Mohan Majhi-led BJP government in trouble?
Most importantly, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi was out of Bhubaneswar on that day.

“There is nothing wrong in protesting while being in uniform,” said Batakrushna Tripathy, former police officer.
Senior journalist Rajaram Satpathy said, “I can’t name anyone but I can say there was a well-planned conspiracy to bring shame on the present government.”
At the same time, edited videos were uploaded on social media platforms one after another as a part of the conspiracy to belittle the Bharatpur case victim.
Who are behind this conspiracy? Who were uploading the video clips?
While the victim’s father alleged that those who were afraid of getting caught did everything, national leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and BJP’s National Spokesperson Nalini Kohili condemned the act.
“They who are involved in the case uploaded the video clips to assassinate her character,” said the victim’s father.
Judicial Commission of Inquiry head, Justice (Retd) Chitta Ranjan Dash also denounced the way the victim’s character was assassinated.
“It is unfair to give any comments on any woman’s character. Because that is her private affair,” said Justice (Retd.) Dash.
Meanwhile, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said police have been directed to find out who was uploading the video clips.
“No one has the right to assassinate anyone’s character. The police have been directed to take steps in this regard,” said the Law Minister.
Meanwhile, taking action over the congregation of police officials, the Commissionerate Police in a letter to all IICs, IIC of Traffic I and Traffic II asked to submit the list of officers/men those who were detailed as DCO, emergency and Sentries of their police stations on September 21 from 4 pm to 6 pm.
