Police arrest 3 accused for ‘hacking youth to death’ in Bhubaneswar
Commissionerate Police-Bhubaneswar arrested three persons on Wednesday following the gruesome murder of a young man identified as Sahadev Nayak earlier in the morning.
The special squad took into custody three people, including a woman hailing from Saranakul in Nayagarh district.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP)-Bhubaneswar Pinak Mishra stated that the motive behind the murder was rooted in previous enmity. The suspects are reported to be from Kedarpalli locality of the State Capital.

An independent team has been set up to investigate this heinous crime, DCP Pinak Mishra further confirmed.
Sahadev was found brutally murdered on Rasulgarh flyover, with severe injuries visible on his back and legs.
Throwing an open challenge to the Commissionerate Police, the miscreants brutally hacked the youth in broad daylight on the Rasulgarh-Vani Vihar national highway while the Capital City was gearing up to host the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention starting today.
The youth’s body was seen in the morning, raising suspicions of murder.

On being informed, Mancheswar Police rushed to the crime spot and launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
“We rushed to the spot after we were informed that a youth was hacked by some people on Rasulgarh flyover. He died as they hacked him and the miscreants fled away soon after committing the crime,” informed Mancheswar Police Station IIC Mrutyunjay Swain.
“As per preliminary investigation, he was going on a scooter, when he was chased by four persons and was hacked to death,” the IIC added.
