A Plus 3 second-year student from Ganjam's Digapahandi area remains missing for five days, with her family alleging kidnapping. Her abandoned bicycle was found nearby, prompting a police probe.

A Plus 3 second-year college student remains untraceable five days after going missing in the Digapahandi area of Ganjam district. Following this, her family alleged that she had been kidnapped. Sources reported that the girl had gone to her college for examinations last week, but did not return home.

Concerned, her father approached the Digapahandi police station and filed a report, prompting the authorities to initiate an investigation into her whereabouts.

The student is reportedly missing for five days after leaving her home early last Thursday morning around 11:30 am to appear examination at her college. Her failure to return prompted her family to search the surrounding villages, which led to the discovery of her bicycle in a neighbouring area, confirming that she had travelled on her usual route.

Police Register Case And Launch Probe

Based on the complaint, Digapahandi police officially registered a case and started a detailed investigation. Officers are reviewing the girl’s movements from the time she left home, gathering witness accounts, and checking local areas along her route.

Following the recovery of the bicycle and the complaint, police are continuing their investigation to locate the student and understand the circumstances that led to her disappearance.

Authorities have also taken into account the allegations of abduction and are reviewing the case accordingly.

Recent Case Adds To Concerns

The reports come after four masked youths allegedly kidnapped a girl from a busy marketplace in Mayurbhanj, right in front of her parents, threatening them before fleeing.

The victim girl was forcefully abducted in front of her parents in broad daylight at Kaptipada market on Friday evening when the girl, a resident of Sudasudia village, had gone shopping with her parents.

As she stepped out of a shop, four young men wearing masks arrived on bikes and forcefully dragged her away. When the parents tried to intervene, the abductors threatened to kill them and sped away with the girl.
