Plus 3 admissions in Odisha: Third UG merit list announced

The Higher Education Department of the Odisha government on Tuesday announced the third and final Under Graduate (UG) merit list for the current admissions cycle.

This phase marks a crucial period as a total of 49,818 students in the third phase merit list are set to report to their respective colleges from tomorrow till July 4.

In this decisive stage, students must utilise the 'Freeze' option to solidify their college choice, as the alternative 'Float' option is unavailable for this round.

This adjustment underscores the importance for students to make a definitive decision and commit to their selected institution.

Earlier on June 22, the Higher Education Department had announced the second-round merit list for this academic year’s UG admissions. A total of around 45,502 students were selected in the round.

Out of the 52,126 students who had opted for Slide/Float options, these candidates secured seats in the latest round. The selected students were instructed to report to their respective colleges between June 23 and June 25 to confirm their admission and complete the necessary formalities.

In comparison, the first-round merit list had seen 79,752 students successfully enrolled.

The streamlined admission process, including the flexibility of Slide and Float options, aims to help more students find a suitable college according to their preferences and ranks.

The reporting period is crucial—failing to report may forfeit admission. The multi-round system through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal ensures optimal admission based on ranks and preferences.
