Performance is the key - New Police Commissioner of Twin City to overstaying officers

Twin City Police Commissioner S Debadatta Singh on Tuesday made his intention clear- the police will work as per the mandate set by the Odisha government. The senior cop also indicated action against officers by clearly stating that performance would be the key.

While talking to reporters, Singh assured that a review of the overstaying officers at a particular place will also be conducted. According to the new Police Commissioner, the Odisha government has given clear instructions that all people get round-the-clock assistance and justice. At police stations, there are staff throughout as emergency situation can crop up at any given point of time, he said.

“I have assumed charge recently. I will conduct a review on how long the officers are posted at a particular place and their need as well. It will take some time and appropriate measures will be taken,” said Singh.

One of the important criteria is performance. Apart from this, honesty, integrity and delivering justice to people are also expected from the officers, said the Twin City Police Commissioner.

CCTV Installation At Police Stations

"The process of installation of CCTV cameras at police stations had started as per Supreme Court orders in the state. But after the construction of new police stations, we have to depend on the agencies installing those to remove and re-install the old equipment," said Singh.

“We are preparing a list of existing CCTV cameras at police stations, strategic locations and how many of them are functional and other issues,” he added.
