BJP MLA Sampad Swain
On the eve of Ravan Podi Utsav, BJP lawmaker and Minister of State for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain launched a veiled attack by asking who is the Ravan in Paradip?
Attending the programme, Swain said several human-faced Ravans, who were involved in the murder of Munna Pati and Mahendra Swain, are moving scot-free in Paradip. Such people will be given a befitting reply and shown their right place, he said.
The Minister also attacked former BJD leader Damodar Rout’s son Sambit Routray and accused him of being hand in gloves with ‘murderers’ and destroying the peace and tranquillity in the industrial hub.
“Especially in Paradip, we all know there are many human-faced Ravans. They have cheated and even killed people and are yet roaming free. As this is an Industrial area, they use the death of workers for their political gains,” alleged Sampad Swain.
“Now that the people of Paradip have chosen us, we will ensure that there is no place for violence here. No one will be spared. Everyone will get the ‘karma’ of their deeds and we will show them the place they belong,” he added.
Commenting on Damodar Rout’s death, Swain further stated, “Damodar babu was a respectable man. In his political career, he never allowed any murderers to come near him. But, now his son has joined hands with murderers. He is seen spending time with them. He has joined them and doing politics with them. Damodar babu’s soul must be in pain as his son is roaming around with murderers and those who are responsible for violence in Paradip.”
Reacting to Minister Swain’s Ravan remark, Routray said, “I am happy to see very much improvement in the way my younger brother Swain speaks now. Dama Babu’s soul must be crying seeing the present political scenario.”
“I would like to ask him if he is roaming with only Rams? Does he not have Ravans with him? Time will make things clear. Time will tell if BJD will be eliminated or it makes a comeback,” Routray added.
