Pakoda-seller in Odisha secures ranks in JEE, NEET  

A resident of Ranipada village under the Beguniapada block of Ganjam district, Bikas Das has secured good ranks in the JEE Main and NEET. Now, he wants to be a doctor. 

His journey so far has not been a cakewalk. 

The first blow he received was when he lost his father and the burden of his family suddenly fell on his untrained shoulders.  To keep the pot boiling, he along with his younger brother started selling snacks from a push cart. All the while, he never allowed his aim to become a doctor out of sight.

He appeared in the Matric exam and secured 89 per cent. This reaffirmed his confidence and he started preparing for JEE and NEET. He also shined in these exams, securing good ranks. 

While he has now been admitted to the Civil Engineering discipline in NIT, Rourkela, he aspires to study medicine after NEET counselling.
