Over Rs 186 cr penalty collected from twin city traffic rule violators in 3 yrs

The penalty was collected from the vehicle driver for violation of different traffic rules such as driving two-wheeler without wearing helmet, driving while talking on mobile phone, driving without seat belt, driving on wrong routes and driving in an inebriated condition.

Traffic violator fined

A whopping amount of more than Rs 186 crore has been collected from as many as 1,85,2394 vehicle drivers for violating various traffic rules in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in the last three years.

Minister of State for Home Tusharkanti Behera stated this in the monsoon session of the Odisha Assembly on Monday. Behera was replying to a question from Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Souvic Biswal.
