Over 10 girl students injured as passenger bus crashes into school bus in Cuttack
As many as 10 girl students were injured as a passenger bus crashed into the bus of a private school at Khannagar Square in Cuttack on Tuesday.
The driver of the passenger bus fled the spot immediately after the accident. However, he was eventually overpowered by some local residents.
As per reports, the bus of Shakti Junior College was carrying some students when the passenger bus hit the vehicle near Khannagar Square.
As per reports, locals rescued the injured girls immediately after the accident. The passenger bus driver was running away from the spot with the bus after the accident. However, some local people overpowered the driver by chasing him.
As per an eyewitness, the passenger bus driver was fully drunk and was even not able to walk.
“We heard a loud sound and rushed to the spot to find that the passenger bus had hit the school bus. Some students were crying inside the bus after suffering injuries. Around 10 students have suffered injuries in the accident and four to five of them have suffered serious injuries. While some of us rescued the injured girls, others chased the driver and overpower him,” said an eyewitness.
“Khannagar Square often witnesses heavy rush throughout the day. Proper security and traffic arrangements should be in place here to avert any kind of accidents and untoward incidents,” he added.
