OTV's Odisha Citizens Award 2024 honours 9 personalities for their contribution to society 

In the 12th edition of the prestigious annual Odisha Citizens Award, instituted by the Odisha Television Network (OTV), nine distinguished personalities were awarded for their immense contribution to society in their respective fields. 

At a special ceremony organised in Bhubaneswar, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, who attended as the Chief Guest and Honorable Guest respectively, felicitated the awardees who were selected in nine categories by the jury members.

Here is the list of winners:

Agriculture: Sudam Sahu

Art & Culture: Pradosh Swain

Business: Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya 

Education: Bedangadas Mohanty 

Entertainment: Satyabrata Rout

Health: Dr Patita Paban Mohanty 

Politics: MLA Laxman Bag

Social Service: Rajeswari Dalai

Sports: Swayams Mishra 

On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “OTV has been taking up such initiatives to bring those unknown personalities to the fore. I would like to thank OTV for what they have been doing for so many years and I wish they should continue their initiative. We are ready to extend all kinds of support to them.”

While delivering her welcome address, Odisha Television Network MD, Jagi Mangat Panda said OTV has never distanced itself away from its responsibilities towards the people of Odisha even though it encountered with many obstacles during its 27-year-long journey.

“OTV has been discharging its duty appropriately for the Odias residing in and outside Odisha for the last 27 years. For this, we have the love and blessings from them all and we have been the number one TV network in Odisha. During this journey, we faced many obstacles. Yet, we never ever distanced ourselves from our responsibilities towards you. Bringing out the truth concealed among many a lie; we delivered you the right news. It is our aim,” she said. 

“In this 27-year-long journey, OTV has taken so many initiatives like the Citizens Award.  The Odisha Citizens Award is a unique initiative where our aim is to bring those personalities who have worked for society and inspired others to the fore and felicitate them. We hope, ours this initiative will stand as a beacon for others,” she added.
