In connection with the OTET (Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test) question paper leak case in Odisha, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) vice-president, Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, was questioned by the Crime Branch on Saturday.

As per sources, Mohanty was summoned to the Crime Branch office for interrogation. It has also been reported that several important documents related to the case were examined during the inquiry.

A day before, the board had officially announced that the Special OTET 2025 will be conducted on August 31. The examination will be held in two sittings on the same day.

While Paper-I of the Special OTET will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Paper-II will take place in the afternoon session, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

This Special OTET has been scheduled after the previous examination was cancelled due to a question paper leak incident.

Earlier, the Special OTET-2025, scheduled to be held on July 20 for in-service primary school teachers across the state, was cancelled unexpectedly and postponed indefinitely following a late-night notification. The announcement followed the recent leak of the special OTET question paper, which led to the postponement of the exam scheduled for July 20.

The abrupt cancellation left over 75,000 candidates in shock and dismay. A total of 75,403 in-service primary teachers had applied for the Special OTET, which was scheduled to be held across 193 centres in 30 districts of the state. Many candidates had already travelled to their respective centres, only to be informed late at night about the cancellation. The decision had triggered disappointment and outrage among the aspirants.
