With the Orissa High Court rejecting singer Sourin Bhatt’s anticipatory bail plea in a harassment case, his trouble seems to be mounting. The Commissionerate Police has started the process to arrest him.

Informing about the future course of action, Cuttack Zone II ACP Amitabh Mohapatra said the singer would soon be arrested.

“The Orissa High Court has rejected Sourin Bhatt’s bail petition and vacated the interim protection it had granted. Now we will try to arrest him. After discussion with the DCP and getting information about his whereabouts, a team will leave to arrest him,” he said.

“We will focus on two locations-the first one is Kolkata, his native place and the second is Mumbai where he was staying. Last time too, a team had gone to Kolkata. Even though his mobile phone still remains switched off, we will gather our own information and then a team will be sent to arrest him,” he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that a woman on June 12 had accused the Ollywood singer of sexually harassing her and cheating her of lakhs of rupees. A resident of Cuttack city, the complainant reportedly works in a private bank. As per her allegations, she had come in contact with the singer in 2015.

Fearing arrest, the singer had filed the anticipatory bail petition at the Orissa High Court. The court had granted interim protection to the singer on August 1. The Court had also directed the playback singer to cooperate in the police investigation whenever required.

Notably, a four-member team of Commissionerate Police had visited Sourin’s house in Kolkata on June 22. However, the team had to return empty-handed as the singer was in New Delhi.
