The complainant had alleged that BMC is dumping all the waste articles of Bhubaneswar city in Mancheswar area. In its petition, the complainant had alleged that such dumping of garbage might lead to health issues in the locality.

“Since the allegation prima facie reveals violation of human rights, a copy of the petition be sent to Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to cause an enquiry into the matter and submit a detailed factual report on the allegations made by 11.12.2023,” the OHRC order read. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled to be held on December 14, 2023.
