Teacher accused of physically assaulting students in inebriated state
An allegation of physical assault has surfaced in Thakuradia of Dava Panchayat from Jharbandh block, Bargarh, where a teacher is accused of beating 16 students. The complaint also mentions that the teacher hit the students while in an inebriated state. The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday morning.
The teacher, reportedly in a drunken condition, is said to have physically assaulted the students causing serious injuries. Following this, the students received primary medical treatment at a nearby hospital and were discharged shortly after.
Expressing concern and dissatisfaction Kishore Sahu, a guardian said, “The teacher was heavily drunk and was not even in his right senses. He has hit some students with a stick and has hurt some of the students on their heads. Following this severe attack, the injured students were taken to the hospital.”

“We have filed a complaint with the BDO and local police. He should not have hit the children so bad especially when it is against the law. The bodies of our children are filled with injury marks. This type of behaviour is highly condemnable and unacceptable,” he further added.
Following the incident, several parents and guardians have raised concerns about the safety and well-being of their children, who were hospitalized. They have called for strict action against the teacher involved and demanded answers from the school administration regarding the incident. The parents have expressed their dissatisfaction with how the situation was handled and are seeking assurances that such an event will not happen again in the future.

At present, there has been no official response from the head master or senior officials regarding the incident. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are looking into the matter.
As per the latest reports, no arrests have been made so far.
