Odisha’s public sector companies contribute over Rs 205 crore in dividends
Four state-owned enterprises in Odisha have marked a successful financial year by contributing a collective sum of over Rs 205 crore in dividends. Among these, prominent contributions have come from the Odisha Agro Industries Corporation, which has delivered a dividend of Rs 1.35 crore, and the Odisha Cashew Development Corporation, contributing Rs 46.51 lakh for the financial year 2022-23.
In the energy sector, robust performances in the financial year 2023-24 have been reported by the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) and the Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC). OHPC has added Rs 92.21 crore, while OPGC has delivered a significant Rs 111.82 crore in dividends.
These substantial contributions were handed over to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi during a formal meeting, exemplifying the efficiency and profitability of the state’s public enterprises. The funds are earmarked for driving development initiatives across the state, with the aim of spurring economic growth and enhancing public welfare.
These revenues are set to bolster the state government’s efforts in various development projects across Odisha, facilitating infrastructure growth and societal advancement.
