A Revenue Inspector (RI) from Gochhara under Sambalpur’s Kuchinda block was apprehended by the Odisha Vigilance for accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.

The RI has been identified as Satyanarayan Kaudi.

As per reports, the RI allegedly demanded bribe from Khatu Kisan (Complainant) from Guruan village for submission of an enquiry report related to a land mutation case to the Tehsildar, Kuchinda for issuance of ROR (Record Of Rights /Patta).

The vigilance sleuths trapped Kaudi after receiving a complaint from Kisan.

Cash of Rs 5,000, allegedly taken as bribe, was recovered from the possession of Kaudi and it was seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Kaudi.

Investigation is in progress against the accused RI and the vigilance will publish a detailed report after the completion of probe.

In December last year, the officials of the Vigilance Directorate conducted simultaneous searches at the residence and property linked to Abhimanyu Chaudhury, a sub-Inspector posted at Tamando Police Station in Bhubaneswar.

They detected 8 plots including 7 in prime locations in and around Bhubaneswar and bank deposits to the tune of Rs 86 lakh.
