Odisha promotes 15 OAS officers to higher ranks
The Odisha government has issued two official notifications promoting a total of 15 Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officers to higher ranks on an ad hoc basis, pending recommendations from the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).
As per a notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievances Department, seven officers serving in the Superior Administrative Grade (SAG) have been promoted to the rank of Special Secretary in Level-17 of the ORSP Rules, 2017.
The promoted officers are: Soojata Mishra, Lipsa Das, Sambit Kumar Navak, Kalpataru Behera, Purna Chandra Mishra, Kailash Chandra Nayak and Vedabandhu Mishra.
In a separate order issued by the department, eight OAS officers in the Supertime Scale have been elevated to the Superior Administrative Grade (SAG) in Level-16.
The officers are Prabir Kumar Khilar, Sailendra Kumar Jena, Rabinarayan Jethy, Ajambar Mohanty, Saroj Kumar Swain, Dr. Lalatendu Sahoo, Dandrabhanjan M.M. Patra and Talat Aafreen.
“These promotions are on an ad hoc basis for a period not exceeding one year or until the OPSC’s recommendation or the officers’ retirement, whichever is earlier. The promotions are also subject to the outcome of the Supreme Court judgment in SLP(C) Nos. 35608-35610 of 2010 (Gahadu Mirdha vs. State of Odisha) and related cases,” the notifications read.
