Odisha Police crack Rs 2.25L, gold snatching case from moving train in 10 days, arrest six
Rayagada GRP police have cracked the case of a gold bag snatching from a moving train, arresting six accused from different parts of Rayagada town. Police seized Rs 2.25 lakh in cash, 58 grams of gold, two cars, and several mobile phones from their possession.
All the accused are residents of Rayagada. The incident took place on August 3, when Andhra Pradesh-based gold trader Roop Din Mulla was returning to Guntur after business in Rayagada. As the train neared Jhamadedeipentha station, the miscreants snatched his bag containing about 150 grams of gold.
Following his complaint, the GRP and RPF intelligence wing launched a joint investigation. After a 10-day manhunt, the accused were apprehended and the stolen property recovered.
