Odisha man hacks brother to death as family watches in horror
In a brutal act of violence, a man named Panda Sabar allegedly hacked his younger brother, 48-year-old Chaitanya Sabar, to death with an axe on Saturday afternoon in the quiet tribal village of Soura Bikrampur under the Padmapur police limits in Rayagada district.
According to sources, Chaitanya had returned home from nearby Dumbasara village after completing some work and was sitting down for lunch with his family. It was during this time that Panda Sabar and his son arrived and launched a sudden attack with an axe, killing Chaitanya on the spot.
The exact motive behind the murder remains unclear. Speaking to reporters, the deceased’s wife, Maluni Sabar, expressed shock and said the family had no knowledge of any serious conflict between the brothers that could have led to such a violent outcome.
“Panda Sabar came along with his son, and all of a sudden, launched an attack on my husband. He killed him right in front of us, and we were unable to do anything. We do not know the reason behind the attack,” she added.
