Turekela police of Bolangir have finally nabbed the culprit, Sachin Aggarwal, who brutally killed his 26-year-old girlfriend Tanu Kure allegedly over suspicion of cheating.

The half-burned body of the deceased, Tanu, was found by the local people in the cashew nut forest under Turekela police station limits on the 24th of October, 2022.

On investigation, it was found that Sachin was in a two-and-a-half-year-long relationship with Tanu who was a banker by profession and hailed from Korba region of Chhattisgarh. Furious Sachin on suspicion of his girlfriend dating another man named Gaurav, plotted to kill his girlfriend.

Upon recreation of events, it was found Sachin drove Tanu from Chhattisgarh to Bolangir on October 21, where he first shot his girlfriend inside the car near Bangomunda region, and later disposed of her body.

As per Laxmi Naryan Mishra, SDPO, Kantabanjhi said; “Aggressively the accused killed his girlfriend, and to clear evidence he tried to dispose of her body through burning by pouring petrol in an isolated cashew forest located in under Turekela police station limits.”

Meanwhile, documents found near the body helped police to identify that the half-baked body was of Tanu which was further verified by her parents.

The police have nabbed Sachin, along with his aide Suraj Aggarwal who helped in the crime while trying to escape from Bolangir to Kolkata. Their location was easily traced to Whatsapp messages sent by the accused to the brother of Tanu.

While the investigating officers have also unearthed Sachin’s drug trafficking links and multiple other cases filed against him.

Meanwhile, police have recovered the gun used in the crime, but the vehicle inside of which the murder took place is still missing.
