Odisha lady lecturer arrested for ‘appearing exam’ for absent student

A lady lecturer landed behind bars for allegedly writing answers for a student, who was absent, during an examination. Such an incident reported from Luipa Degree College at Radho in Mayurbhanj district has now become the talk of the town.

The arrested lady lecturer has been identified as Tulika Asha. As per reports, the fourth semester of the Zoology department was held on July 27, 2023. One of the students was absent and could not appear for the semester.

It is alleged that the lady lecturer not only wrote the answer on behalf of the absent student but also forged the signature of the examination controller.

The Principal of the college had issued a show-cause notice to the concerned lecturer after the matter came to light. Later, a formal complaint was lodged in connection with the incident at Udala Police Station.

“One of the invigilators caught the lady lecturer writing an exam for an absent student on July 27. It has been found that the lecturer had also written the exam on July 26 as well,” said the Principal of the college, Gauranga Mohapatra.

Based on the complaint, police have arrested the lady lecturer after a detailed probe.
