Odisha lady cop 'disappears' after suicide bid over suspected love affair   

The female sub-inspector (SI), identified as Kajal Bag, who was undergoing treatment at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital (BBMH) following her suicide attempt has allegedly disappeared mysteriously.

What has made the matter more mysterious is that the police are keeping mum on her whereabouts. They are not divulging where she has gone or is undergoing treatment. 

Notably, she had reportedly attempted to end her life at her rented accommodation at Gopabandhu Nagar under Saintala block in Balangir district on Wednesday night. 

According to the villagers, she was in her rented house on Wednesday night. Then, they could hear her speaking with someone loudly over the phone. Thereafter, she was suspected to have consumed a portion of mosquito liquid. On being informed by a youth about Bag’s suicide attempt, a team from Saintala police station reached her house, rescued her and immediately rushed her to Saintala government hospital and then shifted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital. 

While the reason behind her bid to end her life is still to be ascertained, a love affair was then suspected to be the reason for her suicide bid.
