Odisha lady cop attacked with blade by theft accused at police station

A woman inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Bisoi police station in Mayurbhanj district was injured after she was attacked by an accused with a blade. While the attack took place on October 26, it came to light after a video of the incident surfaced on Friday. 

However, the reason behind the attack on the lady cop has not been ascertained yet.

According to reports, donation money in a temple was stolen in Bisoi area a few days ago. Following a complaint from the priest of the temple, police arrested accused Sushant Deo on October 26.

When IIC Mini Bhoi was alone at the police station, the accused who was carrying a blade with him attacked her all of a sudden. In the video, the woman cop was seen trying to resist the attack.

She sustained multiple injuries to her neck, hand and other parts of her body in the attack. 

Soon after the attack, the accused was detained. Several cases of theft are pending against him. The police have started an investigation into the matter, but are yet to find out the exact reason for the attack on the lady IIC. 

A case was registered against the accused in connection with the attack.
