Odisha farmer brings snake that bit him to hospital, seeks medical attention
In a shocking incident in Balasore district, a resident of Sana Biripada village Bharat Behera caught the attention of everyone after he brought a snake to the Soro Community Health Centre.
While working in the fields on Saturday, Bharat was bitten by a venomous snake. As soon as he realised the severity of the situation, he called out to his fellow workers for help.
They came forward very quickly and killed the snake to prevent any further danger.
In light of this, Bharat went further, determined to get medical aid by carefully placing the dead snake in a bag and then ran to the Soro CHC with the intention to show the medical staff what kind of snake had bitten him, hoping this would improve his treatment.
He informed them of his situation on arrival, stressing that knowing the type of snake might enable better treatment.
But, Bharat's health worsened and he was soon shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital as better treatment would be given to him there. The doctor and the nurses appreciated him for his courage in getting the snake to the hospital.
The fact that Bharat received prompt medical care made this incident draw attention to the risk of snake bites in rural areas and how quick intervention is the key to emergencies.
