The final list of voters in Odisha for the upcoming general elections has been published. Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer, Nikunja Bihari Dhal released the list today.

While informing about the total number of voters who will exercise their franchise in the coming general elections, the CEO said the total number of voters in the state is 3,32,36,360. Of them, the numbers of male and female voters are 1,68,50,949 and 1,63,82,031 respectively.

Similarly, the numbers of young voters and transgender voters stand at 7,54,946 and 3380, respectively. A total of 4,57,821 Divyang voters and 6,85,048 Senior Citizens ( 80 years and above) are there in the voter list.

While a total of 12, 97, 954 new voters have been added to the list, a total of 7,16,000 voters have been excluded.

“We laid emphasis on two things. First, to increase the number of young electors. Second, to improve the gender ratio by increasing the number of female electors. We have achieved a good result. When we published a draft report on October 27, our gender ratio was 963 (963 female voters per 1000 male voters). Now, that has become 972,” he said.

“I would like to inform it that the female ratio is at the highest level in the last five years,” he added.
