Twin City Police Commissioner receiving medal
Several Odisha Police officials were honoured with the Police Service Medals in a ceremonial event held at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, on Sunday morning.
Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati awarded the medals during the event, which took place in the presence of key dignitaries including the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the Director General of Police (DGP), and the Director General of Fire Services.
According to sources, the accolades highlighted the commendable contributions made by police officers over recent years. For the year 2024, 18 officers were recognised with the Governor’s Medal, while 20 officers were similarly honoured for their exemplary services for 2021. The event also witnessed the conferment of medals for outstanding performances across the years 2019, 2020, and 2023.
Such recognition serves to motivate the police force, acknowledging their unwavering service and dedication to maintaining law and order in the State.
“I received this medal from the Governor and I am immensely happy for it. I thank the Police (Home) department and the State government for this honour. Recognitions and honours inspire us to work better. Many police brothers and sisters, including subordinates, colleagues, and higher-ups, were felicitated today,” Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra stated.
“I was conferred with the President’s Medal in recognition of my services. I am feeling very happy. This is the greatest thing in life. Several Odisha police personnel are discharging their duties; but being honoured, is a matter of pride,” a lady cop Sulochana Sahu expressed.
“People usually have a desire to get a medal in their tenure of service. I had dedicatedly performed my duties and had gained the confidence of department higher-ups. As a result, I got this honour today,” President’s Medal recipient SN Rath said.
“Family members have a great contribution as they support us in every aspect helping us to work dedicatedly and honestly. This makes me very happy,” senior cop SN Rath added.
