Odisha CM Mohan Majhi to embark on 2-day visit to poll-bound Jharkhand

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Jharkhand starting from September 30. His itinerary includes Jagannathpur in West Singhbhum and Kolhan in Chainbasa, aiming to attract Odia-speaking voters ahead of the 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will be on a two-day visit to Jharkhand starting September 30. 

As per reports, Chief Minister Majhi will commence his visit from Jagannathpur in West Singhbhum. He will reach there on September 30. On October 1, he will go to Kolhan in Chainbasa. 

Following the Odisha visit of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is the co-in-charge of Jharkhand BJP, and as the 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election is fast approaching, CM Majhi’s visit assumes importance. 

In West Singhbhum, a large number of Odia-speaking people are residing.  Hence, it is believed that CM Majhi’s visit will go a long way in attracting voters.

Besides CM Majhi, all the senior leaders, MPs and MLAs of Balasore district as well as of neighbouring Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts will be visiting Jharkhand, it was learned. 

On the other hand, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram visited Jharkhand on Saturday. He attended Pradhan Mantri Janjati Unnat Gram Yojana’s inaugural ceremony. A total of 63,000 villages of 549 districts in India will be benefited from this Rs79,000 crore project.
