OTV Business Odisha Awards 2024: Corporates felicitated for excellence in business 

The prestigious Business Odisha Awards-2024, instituted by the Odisha Television Network, was given away at a function held in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. 

In this second edition of the Business Odisha Awards-2024, OTV felicitated companies based on their products and people-oriented services. The companies were chosen for their tremendous contribution in making Odisha prosperous in as many as six fields such as education, health, jewellery, business, manufacturing and real estate.

 
While Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida attended the function as the chief guest, Minister of Commerce and Transport, Mines and Steel, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena and actress, model and choreographer Daisy Shah were honourable guests. 

Praising the initiative of OTV, Deputy Chief Minister Parida said, “I think this award will bring about competitive spirit among the business establishments. A media house like OTV will change the way business is being looked at. This award ceremony will immensely benefit the businessmen of Odisha. There will be healthy competition among them and this award ceremony will encourage them to do something innovative.”

In her welcome speech, Co-founder and MD of Odisha Television Network, Jagi Mangat Panda appreciated the contribution of the business establishments in the development of Odisha. 

“This event isn’t just about awards. It’s about acknowledging the resilience, creativity and determination that have set new benchmarks for excellence across various industries in Odisha,” she said.

“Last year, we launched the first edition of Business Odisha Awards with the hope that by felicitating and honouring zealous minds we would inspire the younger generation and thousands of other aspiring entrepreneurs across Odisha. The credit for all this goes to many individuals who worked hard in building thriving businesses and have been at the forefront of setting new benchmarks in Odisha’s economic growth,” she added.

“First of all, I would like to thank OTV for this opportunity and for this business award. In our sector, this award is very prestigious. We will be motivated and give better service to our customers,” said a visibly delighted Saurabh Prasad, an awardee.

The nomination process of the Business Odisha Awards-2024 was done in two phases. First, applications for nominations were invited online. Then, the jury members examined the short video profiles prepared on the companies shortlisted. 

Later, online voting was conducted along with the telecast of the profile episode. Eventually, the awards were given away in various categories by calculating the marks given by the jury members and the marks obtained in the online voting.

There were three jury members in the second edition of the OTV Business Odisha Awards including former CMD of Nalco Ansuman Das, former director of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar Ashok Mohapatra and senior chartered accountant AK Sabat.
