Accompanying the already fixed Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 2300, this subsidy serves as additional financial support.

The farmers, who are currently receiving ₨2,300 per quintal for their paddy will benefit from this further subsidy. The funds will be deposited directly into the farmers' accounts within 48 hours of their paddy purchase. This initiative is a deliberate effort to bolster the agricultural communities across Odisha.

There will be similar events in Puri, Sambalpur, Khurda, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Koraput, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Jagatsinghpur and Bhadrak where the input subsidy will be distributed.

It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that it would pay Rs 2300 as paddy MSP and Rs 800 towards input subsidy if his party came to power.“While the central government is paying Rs 2300 per quintal of paddy, the state government will pay Rs 800 as input subsidy. Within 48 hours of their paddy sale, Rs 3100 will be credited to farmers’ account,” said Irasish Acharya, BJP MLA.
