Odisha CM announces project worth Rs 68 crore for Tara Tarini shrine in Ganjam
In a significant move to boost spiritual tourism, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday announced projects worth Rs 68 crore to advance the development of the sacred Maa Tara Tarini shrine in Ganjam district.
Chief Minister Majhi made the announcement while addressing the centenary celebration of Gangadahani Government High School in the district as the chief guest.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also visited the famous Tara Tarini shrine to offer prayers to the Goddess and held a review meeting with the district administration to discuss infrastructure development in the region.
Funds Allocations for Maa Tara Tarini Shrine
The Chief Minister announced that the state government has allocated Rs 8 crore for the infrastructure development of Maa Tara Tarini Peeth. This includes provisions for security and sanitation, installation of an automated cooking machine on the hilltop, repair and reconstruction of the 999 stone steps, land acquisition for parking and a helipad, among other measures.
To provide necessary facilities to devotees and visitors and enhance their spiritual and cultural experience, the state government has sanctioned an additional Rs 30 crore.

Construction of a multi-storey dharamshala in front of the Singha Dwara, a picnic spot, road improvements including safety walls, lighting, signboards, five domes around the temple, development of the northern side, and other development works along the Rushikulya river bank will be executed at a cost of Rs 25 crore.
Additionally, Rs 5 crore will be kept as a fixed deposit for the maintenance of the temple and other buildings, the Chief Minister stated.
A total of Rs 68 crore has been sanctioned for the infrastructure development of Maa Tara Tarini shrine.
