Odisha Citizens Award’s second jury meeting held in Bhubaneswar

The second jury meeting of the eleventh edition of the prestigious annual Odisha Citizens Award, instituted by Odisha Television Network, was held at the head office of OTV in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. 

The jury members discussed about the personalities to be honoured with the award in several categories. While the names of four persons were shortlisted in the earlier meeting, the members today watched their short videos and analysed their profiles.

Thereafter, the names of the winners will be announced through online voting.

The award is conferred upon personalities from nine fields like agriculture, business, education, health, politics, social service, art and culture, sports and entertainment for their immense contribution. 

The main objective of the award is to felicitate those personalities of the state who have earned a niche in different sectors. 

“It was a very difficult task to choose one among the best. The Odisha Citizens Award is a good initiative to encourage those who are doing something good in their respective fields. Besides new talents, those who have dedicated their lives for a cause have been awarded,” said jury member, Dr Rina Routray.

“We have given our own independent views and the marks on the basis of those views. It is good to find that the four contenders are one better than the other,” observed jury member AK Sabat. 

The award has been conferred upon eminent personalities of the state for the last ten years.
