Odisha Cabinet expansion buzz; State BJP Chief Manmohan Samal visits Delhi

Amid growing buzz about a possible cabinet expansion in Odisha, BJP state president Manmohan Samal left for Delhi on Tuesday. Accompanying him is the BJP's state organisation secretary Manas Mohanty, further fuelling speculation about significant political developments in the coming days.

This is Manmohan Samal’s first visit to the national capital after being reappointed as the state BJP president. Sources suggest that the visit may involve high-level discussions with senior central BJP leaders on organisational and governance matters.

Besides, it is also speculated that Samal may have discussions with the top BJP leadership about the possible cabinet expansion and fill up the six vacant ministerial berths.

Most importantly, Samal is also likely to discuss the filling up of the vacant chairman posts of various boards and corporations that have been lying vacant for the last year.

Notably, Samal is on a four-day Delhi visit. Though there is no official confirmation, it is also learnt that CM Mohan Majhi is also expected to visit Delhi in a day or two, sources informed.

The timing of the visit is notable, as Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had met Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati just a day earlier, fuelling the buzz of the ongoing speculation regarding the cabinet expansion.

While no official word has been released on the agenda, political circles in both Bhubaneswar and Delhi are abuzz with talks of possible cabinet expansion.
