The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) OBC Morcha on Saturday stepped up its attack on senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent statements against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The leaders and activists of the BJP OBC Morcha staged a demonstration in Bhubaneswar and also burnt the effigy of Rahul Gandhi.

The senior Congress leader is now under attack from the BJP for the comments he made during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Odisha recently against the Prime Minister. Rahul Gandhi had stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not OBC by birth, rather belongs to the general caste. Moreover, he (Modi) will not allow the conduct of the caste-based census in the country, Rahul Gandhi had said during his Yatra in Odisha.

The BJP OBC Morcha activists led by president, Surath Biswal staged a demonstration against Rahul Gandhi in front of the Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar. The leader also demanded an apology from the senior Congress leader over his remarks.

“We (BJP) have never asked Rahul Gandhi about his caste or the caste of his mother and other family members. But he (Rahul) is asking about the caste of PM Modi who has given rights and recognition to the OBCs in the country. Rahul Gandhi’s statements clearly show his immaturity,” said Biswal.

Meanwhile, no comments were received from the Congress over the BJP OBC Morcha leader’s statements.
