Odisha approves new investments worth Rs 4,739 cr, 25 projects to create 25,200 jobs

The Odisha government on Friday cleared fresh industrial investments worth Rs 4,739 crore across multiple districts, with the potential to generate more than 25,200 jobs. The decision was taken at the 140th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, IAS.

The meeting approved 25 new projects spanning 13 key sectors, including textiles, steel, chemicals, IT/ITES, infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, tourism, cold storage, and capital goods. The projects will be set up in districts such as Khordha, Jajpur, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Balangir, Gajapati, and Subarnapur.

Key Approvals

IT/ITES: Linde India Ltd. to set up a Global Competency Centre in Khordha (Rs 82 crore, 210 jobs).

Infrastructure: Linde India Ltd. to invest Rs 105.7 crore in Jajpur for a pipeline cluster (35 jobs).

Textiles & Apparel: Projects worth over Rs 1,400 crore, including Colortone Textiles (Rs 700.29 crore, 1,010 jobs), Techno Activewear (Rs 100 crore, 2,500 jobs), and SCM Garments (Rs 150 crore, 4,000 jobs).

Tourism: SYCE India to develop a 5-star luxury resort in Sambalpur (Rs 107.42 crore, 150 jobs).

Steel: Konark Ispat Ltd. to expand operations in Jharsuguda (Rs 990 crore, 2,000 jobs).

Renewable Energy: Prozeal Green Energy to set up a 69.5 MW solar park in Subarnapur (Rs 140 crore, 360 jobs).

Cold Storage: PPD Ispat Pvt. Ltd. to establish a 20,000 MT cold storage in Gajapati (Rs 51 crore, 120 jobs).

Chemicals: Sirius Speciality Chemicals to set up a carbon electrode paste plant in Jajpur (Rs 205.44 crore, 600 jobs).

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said the approvals reflect Odisha’s commitment to balanced regional development, sustainable industrialisation, and large-scale employment creation.

The government highlighted that the new projects not only strengthen Odisha’s industrial base but also align with the long-term vision of Samrudha Odisha 2036, creating a future-ready and resilient economy for the state.
