Odisha announces one month’s additional salary, hike in uniform allowances for police personnel

CM Mohan Charan Majhi announced an extra month's salary for Odisha police personnel, with increased allowances. New offices and OISF battalions planned.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday announced that police personnel across the state will soon receive the benefit of an additional month of salary.

The CM made the statement while speaking at an event organised by the Odisha Police Havildar-Constable-Sepoy Association in Cuttack. While the uniform allowance will be doubled from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, the vehicle allowance will also be increased from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000, he stated.

“An extra month's salary will be provided as additional benefits. The motorcycle allowance, which has not been revised in a long time, is being increased. Also, as per the association’s demands, I announce an increase in uniform allowance to Rs 10,000 from Rs 5,000,” the CM said at the event.

In the same address, CM Majhi also declared that a new office for the Odisha Police Havildar-Constable-Sepoy Association will be set up.

Meanwhile, for industrial security, 6 OISF (Odisha Industrial Security Force) battalions will be established soon along with the creation of 6,000 posts, he added.

In a recent similar boost to police forces in the state, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi dedicated 30 ERSS vehicles to the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police last Thursday.

The new fleet of vehicles will operate under the existing ‘Dial 112’ services to ensure fast emergency responses, providing medical, fire, and rescue services as they are equipped with oxygen tanks, stretchers, and fire suppression tools.
