“We have, in fact, retained the original title of Odia pictorial alphabet book ‘Chhabila Madhu Barnabodha’. In the process of moving ahead, we returned to 1901 CE with regard to using the title ‘Barnabodha’ for the revamped book. Certainly, this was the right decision,” the CM expressed while addressing a huge gathering on this occasion.

“Thereby, we have given priority to Odia Asmita (Odia Pride). The guardian of Odia Asmita (poet Madhusudan Rao) had then provided the book at the cost of an Anna (a currency unit earlier being used in British India),” the CM stated in his speech.

“It is a matter of great happiness that we are supporting it today. The way he (the poet) had prepared the book, which is why, the alphabet book is even relevant these days. There is a need to read it in present times,” the CM opined.

“If we will try to implement the lessons therein (in ‘Madhu Barnabodha’) to an extent of hundred per cent by thoroughly understanding them, then only, we will come to realise its importance and realise that we still run short of knowledge,” the CM added.

A digital edition was also launched, reflecting modern advancements in education and the continued relevance of the Odia language.
