Newly-wed couple found hanging inside bedroom in Odisha; police stop cremation

A newly-wed couple was reportedly found hanging inside their bedroom at Bhedaramchandrapur village under Banki block in Cuttack district on Thursday.

While the reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, police stopped cremation of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. 

According to a source, Dharanidhar Sahu and Nirupama Sahu tied the knot around seven months ago. They were living at Bedharamchandrapur village under Banki block in Cuttack district. Dharanidhar was earning his livelihood by working at a sweet shop in Bhubaneswar. 

On several occasions, he would visit his village. Likewise, he had come to his village on Wednesday, but on Thursday morning, they were found hanging from the ceiling fan of their bedroom.

 
Without informing the police, the family members tried to cremate the bodies. However, after getting information, police reached the village cremation ground and recovered the bodies for post-mortem. 

While it is suspected that the couple might have committed suicide over some family issues, the police have launched a probe from all angles.
