Senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra on Tuesday added another twist to the Naba Das murder case, alleging that something wrong might have happened between late minister Naba Das and accused Gopal Das’ niece, and that could have been the reason behind the murder.

“I was suspecting three conspiracies behind the murder. They were linked to business, politics and personal,” said Mishra.

“He (Gopal Das) along with his niece was going to Naba babu, seeking help to get a job. It can’t be denied that during their visits something wrong might have happened. Though it is inappropriate to say anything about the departed leader, but a lot of things were heard about him when he was alive,” he added.

“I doubt something wrong might have happened between the minister and Gopal’s niece following which the family members hatched a plan to eliminate him (Naba Das). After Gopal’s success in his attempt, he and his family members seem to be in great contentment. Gopal’s behavior suggests this,” he argued.

Things will be clear if Gopal’s niece is interrogated, Mishra demanded.

Responding strongly to Mishra’s allegation, late Naba Das’ daughter, Dipali Das said, “You are a senior leader and I have immense respect for you. My father used to be your associate. After hearing what you said about my father’s character before the media, I and my family members are deeply hurt. I would like to say very humbly that you are a senior advocate as well. If you have any proof regarding my father’s murder case, submit it to the police and court. Instead of doing that, why are you assassinating his character? It is not expected from a person like you. As a daughter, I request you to refrain from making such statements about my father’s character.”
