Mumbai Investors’ Meet: Odisha CM Mohan Majhi meets top industrialists, extends invitation for Utkarsh Odisha conclave

On the second day of the Mumbai Investors’ Meet, Odisha CM Mohan Majhi engaged with top industrialists like Kumar Mangalam Birla and Parle Agro's Sauna Chouhan.

On the second day of the Investors’ Meet in Mumbai on Saturday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi met eminent industrialists of the nation and held discussions with them while inviting them to invest in Odisha. 

The first session witnessed the Chief Minister having one-to-one discussions with industrialists such as the chairman of Birla Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla, the CEO of Parle Agro, Schauna Chauhan and Avaada Group, known as green energy solutions provider among others and invited them to the Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025. 

“For Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 to be held on January 28 and 29, we are inviting all the investors. First, we did it in Delhi and now we are in Mumbai. In the coming days, we are going to hold such a programme in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Singapore and Europe as well. Our main objective is to bring investments of Rs5 lakh crore to Odisha this year. Besides rich deposits of minerals, coastline and ports, we have prepared the required infrastructure. This apart, in GDP growth, we are in first position in India.  On this basis, we are inviting all the investors. I hope we will achieve our goal and Odisha will become an industrial hub,” said the Chief Minister.

“Despite being a resident of Odisha, we are investing in Maharashtra, Bangalore and Chennai. We require land in Odisha so that we can invest. We are ready to invest more than Rs 50 crore this financial year and take techno-tourism to the next level. We are hopeful that we will receive something from this government,” said an industrialist. 

Another industrialist said, “I am here with a trading opportunity through which I can make people, particularly women stand on their own feet.”

Expressing his desire to do something for Odisha, another industrialist said, “I am working for recruitment in the fields of IT and non-IT. I have attended such type of programme for the first time. Being an Odia, I have always been dreaming to set up an office in Odisha.”

“We have offices at nine places. I am living in Mumbai and my head office is based in Delhi. I want to do something for Odisha. We want to set up a plant of medical equipment. We are here with a target of Rs 10,000 crore,” another industrialist observed.   

The Chief Minister along with these industrialists will hold a roadshow which will also be attended by Industries Minister Sampad Swain and senior officers from the state.
