Mo Bus’ ticket collectors cease work over various demands in Sambalpur
‘Mo Bus’ services were halted for the day as conductors of the government-launched transport service hit the streets over various demands on Monday. The staff alleged that the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) management has turned a deaf ear to their plight.
“There is no stability and our future is uncertain. They are imposing penalties, suspending us for every little reason, and are not ready to accept any explanation. On the other hand, if any kind of mishap takes place, the management never helps us. Rather, they ask us to deal with the problem on our own,” alleged an agitating woman ticket collector.
“Moreover, we do not have any proof that we are employed by CRUT. They are not bothered about what we go through. They suspend us without any valid reason,” she added.
“They are imposing a fine of Rs 5,000 if we by any chance forget to collect tickets from any passenger. Moreover, by any chance we pay the fine, they do not accept it online and force us to give them cash,” alleged another ticket collector.
“We have been agitating here since morning, but neither the DM, the supervisor nor the in-charge has reached out to us. We will not run the buses until our complaints have been reviewed,” shared another agitator warning that they would continue their strike for an indefinite period if their pleas were left unheard.
